Third Eye Studios is a privately owned professional recording studio located in Tijeras, New Mexico, about 20 minutes east of Albuquerque in the beautiful Sandia Mountains.  

The studio building (originally Thunderbird Studio) was professionally designed by Scott Jarrett and studio designer Geoff Turner.  The studio was professionally built from the ground up with high ceilings, “floated” floors, bass traps, double wall construction, and great line of sight between rooms, no parallel surfaces, which minimizes standing waves. The design features a large main tracking room that is split into two areas; the hardwood room and the carpet room. There’s also three isolation rooms; the tile iso room, a carpeted iso room, and the hardwood vocal isolation booth. The control room was built using a perfect blend of absorption and diffusion insuring any mixes done here will translate perfectly in the real world.   

Our studio has a great selection of “In house” backline, including an excellent sounding Kawai Baby Grand Piano, Fender Rhodes, two drum kits, and lots of guitar amps. We’ll professionally mic your instruments using high quality modern and vintage microphones from Neumann, Telefunken, AKG, Shure and Sennheiser. We utilize a high quality analog front end and capture it all digitally using mastering quality 192k converters.  For tracking and mixing our control room is outfitted with a great selection of high end modern and vintage gear from API, Trident, Vintech, Eventide, EMT, Lexicon, TC Electronic, Empirical Labs, dbx, Summit, Lynx, and Digidesign. We track and mix using Pro Tools HD software and integrate all of our great analog gear into a digital mixing environment, essentially having best of both the analog and digital worlds.
